How much a sworn translation costs

What makes up the price

• Translation: from 25 € per page, according to the length, language and terminology of the document.
• Number of pages: we count the pages to be translated. A divorce decree can be two pages or sixteen: that is why the document has to be seen.
• Urgency: an urgent delivery may carry a surcharge.
• Apostille or legalization: only if the document must be valid abroad. It adds one page to the file, which we normally do not charge for.

What is not included

The 25 € per page are the translation. What stays outside are the possible extra costs: stamp duty, the oath in Court and shipping of the file. We say possible because they are not always needed: for some uses a certified translation is enough, with no oath and therefore no stamp duty, and some clients prefer to buy the stamps themselves. Tell us which office the document is for and we send you the exact total within two hours.

Discounts on long documents and multiple documents

The price does not grow in step with the pages: on a long document, such as a study plan or a set of accounts, the rate goes down as it gets longer. The same applies when you send several documents together, for example a whole citizenship file: we handle them as one job and the discount is already applied in the quote. If more documents are coming in the following weeks, tell us and we will take that into account.

Stamp duty

A stamp duty of 16 € every 4 pages normally applies to the sworn translation (unless the Court states otherwise). It is a legal cost, not our fee.

When stamp duty is not due

Some uses are exempt by law (e.g. school enrolment, separation and divorce, adoptions). Exemption depends on the use and the Court: we tell you if your case qualifies, so you don't pay more than necessary.
